Conti. DWS vs. Potenza grids 019?????

I've heard that the conti. DWS are very nice in snow/rain, but the might not have the best dry weather performance...Where as the potenzas might be opposites. I' m not sure, can you guys chime in and set me straight? Which would you all recommend?

Justin

I put the Grids (195/55/16) on back in October and absolutely love them, Dry/Wet/Snow they performed better than expected!!

+2 on the Grids. I have had conti's before. They are nothing to write home about in the twisties. Sidewalls flex more.

Comparing Apples and Oranges

The Bridgestone Potenza Grid 019's are an All-Season Performance tire. The Continental Extreme Contact DW is a Maximum Performance SUMMER tire. Continental does make an Extreme Contact DWS (Dry, Wet, Snow) which is a UHP All-Season tire.
I asked Alex at Tirerack about the Conti DW's and he rated them equal to or better than the Michelin PE2 as a summer performance tire. Tire rack did a comparison test using the Conti's, P Zero Nero, PS2, and Eagle F1 Asymetric and found them all to be about the same. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=120
If the OP is looking for UHP All-Season tires then the Conti DWS showed well in their latest test.

The Grids showed about the same as the Michelin PE2 A/S in the June 2008 test of high performance All-Season tires.
I don't mean to sound like I'm shilling for Continental, just wanting to dump some of the research I've been doing to point the OP in a direction that will give additional info.
Cheers,
Greg

Sorry about that. I just re-read OP and realized that he said DWS. Well ignore the first bit above and just look at the link to the comparison test of winter performance tires. The DWS came out smelling like a rose in winter conditions.

Thank you Greg,

I've seen the numbers on paper, I guess I should have clarified that I'm looking for more of firsthand experience with both tires, much like Gray Ravens post
