tire chains for '05 S (195/55 R16 runflats)?

My tire guy says the only option I have are spike-spyders (which he'll sell me for over $500) but there are web sites advertising cable and regular chains (like Thule) they say will fit the '05 S with the above sized tires.

Has anyone successfully used cables/chains with the S and these tires? If so, which brand/model (of cables/chains)?

I don't spend any time in snow country any more. I only need them if the Interstate has the "chains required" sign up on a mountain pass. I do have extensive experience driving in winter mountain conditions, and with putting chains on and off.

I know there are some other threads addressing this issue, but here's my 2 cents. No Chains. Cables if you test them 1st and make sure they clear the suspension and there's also these http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/...k/autosock.jsp
