long story short, i smoked my Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's in 215/40R17 during our trackday a few weeks ago and looking to replace them with the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric. here are the options for the sizes:

215/40R17 (no stock, dealer will need to order from germany)
215/45R17 (in stock, taller than OEM diameter)
225/40R17 (in stock. smaller than OEM diameter)

wheels are Volk Racing TE37/SE37 in 17x7.5 4x100 +40. current suspension setup is BC coilovers (front on full drop, rear probably at middle) with HSport rear lower control arms

i'm undecided between the 3 choices but each have their own pros and cons (wider means more traction, taller means more MPG on the highway etc). i'd get the 215/40R17 in a heartbeat but that will take at least 2-3 weeks to get here. with the 215/45R17 the Mini might look too tall. with the 225/40R17 it might rub the dampers. HELP!

I am running 215/45/17 on and it looks great. I had tried a few good track/street tires and for the price and performance, none were better then the Sumitomo htrzIII. I got them for $86 a piece from my local tire store. Great tire and it looks great. I am also lowered with BC's on the lowest drop in the front and half in rear.

225/40's would be awesome, wider the better. ano ung pagpipilian na sukap? you think 215/40's would have skinny tire wall? i don't know about your place but project 8's roads aren't that smooth.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric (Max Summer tire) 240 treadwear
$143 each 22 lbs If you have lowered your MINI and the wheel gap is small then 215/45-17 will likely rub and you will need to raise your ride height at least 1/2 ".
I only see them in 215/45-17, what source do you have?

Another option would be
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 (extreme summer tire) 180 treadwear
205/45-17 $167 each 23 lbs fits your rim and not too tall, should work fine
215/45-17 $175 each 25 lbs
If you want best performance and good for track use then-
RE-11 in 205/45-17 and get some front adjustable camber plates so that you can make use of your tires and not wear them out fast. Dial in -2.4 degrees front camber.
