Hey there - I'm interested in replacing my 17's on my Clubman S this summer and would like some feedback from you experts out there. Right now my Clubman is stock. I would like to get some wider wheels/tires after the run flats been used up. I'd like to go with either a 17x8 or an 18x8. My intent is to lower the car after I put wheels on it. Also, I'd prefer not to use spacers since speaking to a couple of local tire/wheel shops, they suggest not going that route.

So, I see lots of folks running 8 inch wide wheels, but are spacers needed? Is it dependant on the wheel or how low you drop the car? Sorry, I'm kinda a newbie when it comes to this so be kind
