Yoko S Drives at 700 miles
Yoko S Drives at 700 miles
Our 2006 MCS finally got some miles on the Yokohama"S" Drive tires (205/45/17).The tires are broken in now and we are very happy with them.
They are a very predictable tire, you can feel when they will break loose. The ride is much better then the Dunlop R/F's, much quieter. Entering a 180 degree long radius curve at 70mph slowing slightly to 60mph before the apex and accelerating to 70 plus for the exit you could feel the tires wanting to slide and you could induce drift and acceleration and the car was very controlable .I am not an autocross person, where I think you would want more grip or stickier tires at slower speeds. The tires are fun around town. I don't know about the milage we will get from them. They do not feel marshmellow or squirmy when rapidly see-sawing the steering wheel on this particular size inflated to 36 psi at 70 degrees with two people aboard. All in all a fun tire. Bill

The S-drives would have been my first choice. I got a flat on my Pirelli Euforias last night (hated them). Nobody around where I live had the S-drives, and I needed tires right now
. I ended up with BFG G-Force KDW2's. They're loud. Pretty sure I'm not going to like them. Hopfully Next time I need tires it'll be on my terms, and I'll check out the S-drives.
