Media blasted finish on wheels

Does anybody have a point in the right direction or any information on possible media blasted finishes on wheels? I stripped the paint off of a wheel and the alloy actually may look pretty good if it can be blasted to a desired finish and then clearcoated I assume.

Is this possible and has anybody seen any results from this?

So like a satin look? Depending on the blasters talent, may look pretty good. Do it and have a clear powder coat done, interesting.

Satin is one of the thoughts. From my very limited research depending on the media type and size even smoother than satin may be possible.

Try sanding the alloy by hand with automotive paper, then clear coat after you get the disired finish. Aluminum looks great this way, I helped an uncle do his MX-6 years ago. The wheels were very nice after removing the paint and sanding.

That is a thought. I am sure it takes a good bit of sanding however. Do you recall how fine of sandpaper you ended up going to and how smooth it looked when finished?

Sorry it took so long to get back, we worked down to an 800 wet paper. The finish was beautiful, a real eye catcher. I will see if I can dig up some old photos
