Hello,

Any chance a tire shop would be able to fix a cracked rim? I'm thinking no, but I'm no expert.

If I can't fix it I need to replace it and fork over big $$

Thanks for the advise.

I doubt it. They would have to weld in the crack and bang out that lip somehow. Don't be surprised if everyone says no.

I don't know if it will be worth it in the end.....but you can easily find a shop that will weld that up for you....smooth it out....then spray it with some more clear. In the end it may be easier/cheaper to just buy another wheel though.

Welding cracked rims is pretty common though....so most wheel repair places should be pretty willing to do it

But that crack is pretty close to that lip and it did push it out a bit. You think they could salvage that?

Yah...I think the bend would be pretty easy to remove...I've seen worse bends fixed. I think the welding/smoothing will be the hard part

Ive had several rims repaired (5 total) with dents and cracks, one about 6in long. You should be able to find a rim repair shop, well, i guess it all depends on your location, we are known as pothole city, so there are places around us. It ranged between 75-130 for 20" billets.

I used this place a few years ago and they were great!!!!!
I bent 2 of my TSW Hock R's and they "trued" the rims and refinished them, and all for cheaper than what 1 would have costs me to replace.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info
Thanks for the suggestions fellas. All the comments were very insightful.

I'm located in Los Angeles so I'll probably call around some rim repair shops and get some quotes.

Cheers.

I haven't used these guys yet, but I'm going to check them out next week to see if they can fix a flat spot on my rims.

Good find....they look like a good shop. They even have an example of a repair where the damage looks just like yours but a little worse....so I'm sure they can fix your wheel

I think I'd have pulled the eject handles on that one myself, but if they could fix it safely, more power to them for doing it
