I have the MX's - they seem to work fine. Aren't the Pirelli's about $50 more a tire? I went with the MX's thinking that they are disposable enough theat I can live with it if I trash them on the track, not sure I could say the same if I spent another $200.
Let us know what you do, and how you like them.

There's a guy here in Dallas running the Rosso's, and he loves them...

I wouldn't consider the MX in quite the same league (meaning better for certain things), though, as many people are using them very successfully in STX and STS Solo II classes against the Falken Azenis. To me, the Rosso appears to be a little more of a street tire, which the MX is doing well in autocross and on the track. I have seen many exotics and high-end German cars autocrossing on their Rossos, however, and they seemed to have no problems keeping power to the ground.

I've ridden in a Mercedes SL55 AMG shod with Rossos, and he had no problems keeping the car hooked up... and it was a scary-fast ride.

Personally, I think the MX is a great choice for the MINI, though. Especially if you're going to do any track days or autocrossing.

But, I do often wonder about all these $100K+ cars running around, shod with Rossos... they CAN'T be bad. I mean, seriously, aren't they OEM on the SL55 AMG and the like from Mercedes, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis? Did they sew up Porsche yet? They can obviously take the speeds those cars are capable of...

thanks scobob. excellent advice there. i'm pulling out all the stops. Rossos are on the way. To my surprise the awesome price i was quoted included the supras, not the mx's. Made my decision a lot easier.
