17x8 on an R56?

Is anyone running a 17x8 on an R56? I am looking at these wheels http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...-pro-race.html I would love to jump up to the 8" wide wheel. I have decided to settle for 17's due to the potholes all over town, so if I don't have my 18's I want it 8" wide. By the way, I am lowered on H&R springs and have Alta adjustable rear control arms. Opinions? And if so what offset is suggested? Thanks! Oh and yes I have searched, but no answer to an R56.

The 37mm offset offered is probably your best bet. Any idea what size tire you want to run? That will play a large part in what offsets will fit.

Check out this thread for a glimpse at some of the cars that are running 8+" wheels....they list the offsets, tire sizes, and ride heights. The last page has an r56 on 17x8's

I'm think of doing the 235/40-17 also.
