Long as you don't use spacers, stock lugs should be fine.

... and what about running 15s?
Most 15's don't fit over R56 Cooper S brakes, although some do. I think a 15x6.5" Slipstream will probably fit. There can also be issues with control arm clearance at the rear of the car, so be prepared to use a wheel spacer if necessary.

Several of the wheels we carry do come in 15". PM me if you want more info.

Could some of you R53 with RB's owners please post your side view pictures so I can see the difference between the 16 and 17? Also could you let me know what size and make of tire you have and if your car is lowered or not?
Maybe a little late for you, but I bought a set of the flat black 17" RBs and had them powdercoated white. These replaced the original MINI-Lite boat anchors on my wife's R53. If it were my car, I probably would've gone with 16" to get closer to the classic Panaracer look, but my wife insisted on 17" and white. Here are some pictures:

The astute may notice that I've modified the center caps to take the MINI logo from the MINI-Lite caps. That was a bit involved, but I've got pictures of the process if anyone's interested.

Oh yeah, tires are 205/45-17 Kumho Ecsta SPT XRP runflats. I would've gone with non-RF tires if it were mine, but that was another of the wife's requirements. Suspension is bone stock.

Here's a picture from gkp's gallery showing 16" white RBs:

I personally like the 16" proportions better, but I'm not disappointed with the 17"ers at all.

Hi,

We call them Rota MC, and yes, we can ship them to you. It's very expensive, though!

Hello Dan, i think it's time for a set of rims. I have an 09 JCW which it's lowered as well. I am looking to get something in flat black rim, but i am looking to go as biggest as possible in size. If possible 245 or for sure 235's.

I like my factory rims and also like Volk style rims. I have not looked into any rims or style. I saw an individual with 235 on 19 inch rims from HRE and they were nice.

What kind of rim do you suggest and what would be the biggest size i can put on.

Below is a picture of my car with the rims i was talking about

We put 245 tires on our car, but it didn't fit very well. Rubbed at all four corners.

235s can fit, barely.

It's going to be hard to find a big diameter wheel that also clears your brakes. One option is the 18x7.5 Rota P1. I have those in stock. I'd run a 225/35R18 or a 235/35R18 on that wheel.

You could also do the Rota MC, which is 18x8", but you'll need to run spacers up front to clear the brakes.

I would NOT run a 19" wheel on a street-driven MINI. The tire profile is too low for street use, in my opinion.

Dan,

I am interested in purschasing the Rota Circuit 10 in 17x17.5.

What is the weight of that wheel?
Does it fit over the TCE 13" rotor on their plus 3 bbk? Do I need spacers?

Thanks.

Around 18.5 pounds.

I'm not sure. If it's no larger than the R56 JCW brakes, probably yes.

Sorry, I don't. It'd look very much like this car in terms of tire size/location, since the wheel size and offset are exactly the same:

Do i need spacers?
No.

Hey Dan,
Thanks for all the great service on my order. I got my new wheels mounted on Monday!
Cheers.

Not a great picture. I snapped it with my Android right after getting home from the tire place.

Hello, I went in earlier today to MachV and put in my order for 17in Rota RB in hyperblack with some cheap kumho all seasons.

I can't wait to get them! i like the style because it is a little more aggressive and better looking than the oem S-lites but still keeps the semi-classic look.

i'll post up pictures after take delivery of them.

Dan, the MachV MINI looks cool, as does the RSTI and the GR STI!!! is the RSTI a track only car?

Not to mention about nine pounds lighter than the S-lites! (Per wheel!)

Thanks. Yes, the RSTi is currently for track only. It can be driven on the street just fine -- it has a catalytic converter and a muffler, and is perfectly civilized. But we took out the OEM seat belts, so it's not so easy to hop in and out of now. Oh, and we removed the climate control, so that's not so civilized.
