I can't say. Promising anything specific tends to get me in trouble. "You said it would be one month! And now they're not here!"

how long have they been out of stock for?
A couple of weeks.

Do they offsets push the wheels out enough to be flush with the fenders? I am new to Mini's so please excuse my ignorance.

That depends on the wheel, size and offset you get. Our biggest/flushest wheel for the MINI is the Rota MC:

That's 18x8, +45 offset. The wide width means the wheel lip is right at the edge of the fender.

Discount Tire damaged one of mine when mounting the tire. After you told me they are clear coated, I took it back and showed them. Without hesitation, they sent the wheel to SpecWheels, had it back in 2 days, and looks flawless!

Hey Dan,

Do you have any pics of the hyper black MC? Thanks. Any photos on a car would be great too.

Dan, sorry to post so many messages but you lost me. Here is your original response to when I asked if Silver MC's were available. So is there a difference between "Steel Gray" and "Hyper Black". This is assuming that "Black" is just a generic gloss black.

Okay, lemme break it down:

- All MC wheels have a polished lip.
- To date, all MC wheels are 18x8" size, +45 offset.
- Colors that HAVE BEEN made are:

Silver

Steel Gray

Black

Hyper Black

Hyper Black is Rota-speak for a smokey silver color that looks different depending on the angle of reflection. Honestly, it's not that different from Steel Gray, and I didn't want to cause confusion, so I haven't listed it before. I figured we'd stock out of Steel Gray and then move on to the Hyper Black, since it's similar.

Silver is OUT OF STOCK right now. I don't know when we'll have more.

Note: Ignore the "Linea Corse" center caps. We got sent those by mistake with the first shipment. They all come with Rota center caps, as in this pic:

Size: 113.0 KB
(That's Steel Gray, above.)

Man, that MC is just sexy looking - how do 18"s ride on the clubby s anyways (when compared to the oem 16"s with runflats)

They'll look awesome. I promise.

I've got some silver MC's coming to tomorrow (yippee). Supposing they clear KW's with a 5mm spacer, pics follow shortly. :D

Non-runflat tires get you back some ride comfort (compared to runflats). But certainly you give up some sidewall -- an inch, to be exact -- when moving from 16" wheels to 18" wheels. So there's additional steering feel, which is good, but more road vibration and stuff gets to the car too. I don't feel the tradeoff is that bad, because the MINI is set up pretty stiff to start with. But you have to be the judge. Best would be to ride in a car with 18" wheels to see what you think.

I went from 16's to 17's and now to 18's... honestly the ride didn't feel like it changed that much. If anything, it feels better with the all season tires on the 18's.

Ok, I have a Rota RB question, and I can't seem to find the answer after tons of searching.

I just mounted up a set of Rota RB 16x7s with 215/50-16s onto my 2010 MCS. I have no clearance problems with the tires, but I have a concern with the clearance distance between the inside of the spokes and my front calipers. They aren't touching, and there's no rub...but those spokes look awful damn close to the caliper housing. I really can't get in there and get a good measurement, but it appears to only be 1/16th to 1/8" of clearance between the backside of the spoke and the outside of the caliper itself.

Now is this typical with these 16" RBs? I've read countless posts of them being mounted without problems. But I stick mine on, see that really close clearance and freak out!

Like I said, they don't touch or rub, but they seem closer than I thought they should be. Is this tight clearance normal on the R56 MCS and 16" Rota RBs? Should I be concern? Will the setup be ok? The car is brand new, so the brakes are brand new too. And I suspect the clearance will increase as brakes wear.

Please help me out with some piece of mind. Someone please tell me if this tight clearance is ok, or if I should yank them off. But I am confused, so many other people using these wheels without issue.

Many thanks in advance.

Pat
