I've read here a number of times to look for tires with a load rating of 84 and above. I've noticed that a few of the tires I'm looking at have ratings of 83, specifically my front runner, the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1.
The load capacities for 83 and 84 are 1074 and 1102 pounds, according to TR.
My MCS has no sunroof and 90% of my driving is alone, 9% with one other person and 1% with 1 or more passengers.

In my case, should I pass over tires with ratings of 83?

If it matters, the car will be lowered with coilovers.

83 is close enough but MINI recommends at least 84 to be safe.

Just realize you don't want to load up your MINI and drive like a nut.

With one or two people it's fine. Drive sanely. Keep tire pressures up.
