UPDATE: ALL F1 DS-G3'S NOW BEING MADE IN CHINA! Tirerack issue with DS-G3 F1's

I just bought five tires from tirerack. 215/45/17's. They arrived fast enough (a couple days ago), but two are the made in Germany version and three are the made in China version. From this thread it looks like these aren't even the same tire to some extent:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ighlight=china

From what it says the load rating is even different. I won't have my car for another month so they're not mounted or anything, but to me it just doesn't seem right. I may be imagining things, but the rubber itself even feels different on the German made vs. the China made ones.

the load ratings are different - there used to be two models. I'd give them a call to ask....they should all match.

I called Alex, and they're going to replace the Chinese ones for me. Problem solved! Glad I checked the tires. I would've never noticed if it weren't for this forum.

Good thing you got the German versions. They are fairly quick wearing, but are BEAUTIFUL tires and grip wet and dry like nothing else I've felt on the street.

They are way slippery in the cold, so please be very careful or have winter tires handy.

Well, by exhausted, they meant they ran around them track until they fell over panting.

Very true. Under about 35 degrees you will slip and slide all over until the tires warm up.

The temps have been in the low 30's here for the past week or so and I almost always trip the DSC for my first few accelerations from a stop. I'm planning on mounting my original Runflat tires on some S-lites that were given to me... just for those occasional snow days here in Dallas.

They were mixed in a recent shipment we got from
Goodyear with the incorrect article stickers on them.

We make good on it either way

Your correct I was wrong. It now appears all GS D3's are Chinese - No longer German. This was news to me also. We're checking for any German inventory left.

how about the new Eagle F1 Asymmetric? The reviews on those look stellar, if only we can get some more sizes available.
