Wow, I didn't hear about Gabe's wheel damage. Roads around here aren't that great, so strength is a major factor for me as well.

Wouldn't that kind of be like Joe Theismann saying he loves watching that Monday Night Football replay?

Ironically from my experience those OZs are actually some of the most bullet proof wheels I've ever had. I've hit potholes with those that jarred parts of my dashboard lose on my R53 without any damage to the wheels.

What you see there is the result of hitting the mother of all frost heaves at an angle while at high speed with some serious suspension compression. Sort of a freak thing.

I consider it a Lake Shore Drive trophy that now hangs on my garage wall.

I've had multiple sets of Prodrive P1's....made by OZ. They are bombproof......they at potholes. They're also 50% heavier than Ultraleggera's.

Hey Alex, do you have any thoughts on these Enkeis vs. UltraLeggeras, as far as strength is concerned?

My feeling is the the Enkei's MAT technoligy gives a bit more ridigity at the same weight Ultraleggera

I am also looking at the Enkei RPF1 at 14.5 lbs and the RS05. The RS05 doesn't have a weight listed. Is there such thing as a wheel being too light for street use? Or is the weight difference just the difference in mass of the spokes, webs, etc?

I'd be willing to drive my car to your warehouse and can get some professional pics for you in exchange for the wheels

Heck, you could test fitment on multiple wheels if you wanted. Like those new 5Zigen wheels in the other thread here.

Hi all, any idea this sets of GTC01 can clear Brembo GT BBK? Also will there be any rubbing to the wheel arch?

If it was that easy, I would have new wheels each week.

they work NO SPACER!

Enkei GTC01 17x7 Et38
will clear the 320mm Brembo Gran Turismo kit - No spacers.

ET38 is agressive for wider than 205 tires. Your Tire width controlls rub.

I'm actually now leaning toward the O.Z. Hydra for strength and looks, weight be damned. It's a 17x7 Et37 wheel according to your site -- I'm sure it could accommodate 215/45-17, but is it aggressive enough to accommodate 225/45-17 without rubbing? Or is 225 just going too far for the offset or width?

depends on the tire. not all are created equal - a 215/45 RE01R is wider than normal for example.

Probably GoodYear F1 GSD3. Thinking about RE-01Rs, but I'm not sure the grip difference is worth the reduced treadwear for a street tire.

Do you think 225/45-17 F1 GSD3s would fit on 17x7 et37s without rubbing on an R56 MCS with sports suspension?

225/45 is way too tall. a 215/45 RE01R is wider than 225/45 F1GSD3, if I remember right (I know a 225/40/18 RE01R > 245/35/18 F1 ). I've had both tires (F1 in 245/35/18 and 215/45/17 and the RE01R in 215/45/17) and there's no contest in grip, but I don't daily drive my car so I'm ok with the treadwear. If you are pushing fitments, always shop by OD and actual width, not stated size. They vary that much
