I am thinking about painting my new R90 wheel centers to match my DS Cooper S. I assume those rim bolts are real (as opposed to some fake knock-offs). If I remove the centers does anyone know what the torque spec is for reinstalling them. I assume you don't just tighten them by feel.

Thanks.

Those R-90's are real 2 piece BBS forged aluminum racing wheels . the only thing I don't like about mine is they are so heavy!

... but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to go on the BBS site to check - try a BBS retailer and see if there is a spec sheet with their wheels ...

I have a 1988 735I and a 2001 X5 and a 2002 MCS and they all have Rims will the center being an adhiesive backed sticker. you should be able to buy some cheap one's at any place that sell's rims and custom paint your own and just peal off the back to place the new ones on......They come in standard sizes.

No, no. You're talking about the center cap. I am talking about the inner wheel (the spoke part) that bolts to the outer rim. I HOPE it's not held in place by tape.javascript: x()

Ulrichd,

Be careful. I heard that removing the bolts would void the warranty. Not sure if that is true or not, but something to keep in mind.

See ya,
