I just could not resist, walking into my local MINI Performance Tuner and walking empty handed.

Next upgrade for >FLASH!...Stopping power, is more for looks but will add some performance to the already great brake set up...Here we go.

The R56 has the JCW brake kit offered for the R53's, well almost except for the stickers and red paint but it was missing the slotted drilled rotors...So I got them. Great price now just need to have them on and decided to paint or not to paint...I read the painting posts and I think I will paint the calipers

 

Did you go for just the fronts (as offered by MINI)... or a full set?

Mind disclosing the $$$ and where you bought? I've been planning on a set, too.

Hi.. yes these come only for the front, and they are BMW made, I was talking to the tech and he told me that these rotors are made of the same material softness as the original JCW ones, which now come in the R56 standard brake set.... Thats the MINI JCW brake rotors were super good because of the material, Thats why we get so much brake dust and which and made them stop so good, the only thing is, because they are softer than regular rotors they will wear faster but so I hope I will know what faster means in a long while..

I have not notice much improvement if any since the switch, so I wwill say these "upgrade" is pure cosmetics at these point, BUT they do look great, and with a wheel with less material on them will look even better like a set of PIAA's or my OZ which are on the way.
