IE fixed plates - 2 questions

Is the corroding IE plates (seizing) limited to the adjustable plates, i.e. any corrosion issues with the fixed plates?

And, do the IE fixed plates do anything more than the stock plates to combat mushrooming?

Thanks.

Yes the corroding is limited to the adjustment feature of the ajustable plates and does not pertain to the fixed plates.
Yes the fixed plates cover a wider area and are thicker than the originals so would help in preventing mushrooming.
