Tire fitment model??

Well I am sitting here thinking that someone somewhere has probably already thought of this... But here is my idea...

I think it would be nice to have a "simple" model that would allow the user to input (1) tire size, (2) rim offset, and (3) ride height (fender to ground) and be able to show the clearances inside the wheel well (front & rear)... of course for our MINI's.

As a bonus, using computer graphics (java app?) show these clearances/rub points in a 3D rendering. Maybe even include the front wheels moving to show any potential issues while in a turn...

So is this a new idea??
To hard to really model because of ______________.
Are there web sites that already have this available??
Or .....

Thanks for listening..

Wow, just what you wanted. Minus the 3D with front wheels moving but great visual. A must bookmark.

The calculator is good.

Put your stock wheel and tire on the left to use as a reference point.
Load the data on the proposed wheel and tire on the right and you get a comparison between the two.

You can't really tell all the limits due to upgrades in suspension.
Lowering springs or any adjustment in lowering ride height will decrease clearance.

Alignment will vary as well, more negative camber front or rear will increase clearance.

Rear swaybar designs that are more square will decrease clearance in the rear.

Progressive springs mounted in the fronts will allow for slightly less clearance as to long brake line cables.

Then there are individual differences in each tire from the manufacturer for a given size. Some are a little wider or different from the average tire of the same size. Competition tires tend to be like that, street tires tend to be more uniform with some variance due to shoulder tread blocks that can be wide and square (permits less clearance).
