Better, IMHO, even with the doubling in spring rates vs. the OEM springs... PM gnatster and see what he thinks...

I'm very happy with the ride but I cannot compare it to stock. At 900 miles I was already modding the suspension. I haven't driven a stock Mini since.

Apologies for a noob question, but what would be the major differences in features and character between a Cross Coilover and the TSW coilover?

I haven't ridden on the Cross system, so I can't offer any input there... Our coilovers were engineered to work on the street but excel at the track/AX. The ride is firm but better than stock, IMHO - and on the track or AX course, well, it's just plain freakin' awesome.

From a design perspective, the TSW coilovers are more of a traditional coilover in that you adjust ride height and corner-weight that car via the lower spring perch. On the Cross coilovers, you can adjust the position of the damper itself relative to the other components.

Because of the design, the Cross setup is better if you want a really slammed ride and to still maintain some suspension travel. We prescribe a moderate drop with our coilovers for best on-track performance - 1-1.5" is all you need.

For whatever my opinion is worth, I like just the single lower adjustable perch. Some people seem obsessed with getting the most "adjustable things" on the car possible, but the way I look at it is that, sure, each adjustment available on the car is an oppurtunity to make the car faster - but by reciprocity, can also make the car slower if you don't get it right.

So as a pretty dumb guy, I prefer to keep it simple I like the Cross system because it's an inverted damper up front. If I was in the market, it'd be high on my list, as would the TSW package and PSS9's. Lot's of nice options out there.

The wait!? I don't even know if I'm getting them...this is like childhood not knowing anxiety. Well, if I don't get them I'll probably just buy them myself, so maybe I should calm down.

your dad's gonna buy them for you? How old are you?

Is it possible there's someone out here that's younger than me?

Any new reports on the track setup with the 80 kg/cm (448 lb/in) spring rates?

Now that I have two MINIs, the old Cooper is my dedicated track car. Well, it will get driven to the track since I don't have a trailer and tow vehicle. But, I don't care about street comfort, just track performance.

I have found that txwerks is extremely helpful over the phone. Give Jeff a call, and he'll talk to you about everything you want to know.

With all of the parts that are being developed by TSW, I feel that reaching them on this forum rather than e-mail or phone will be worst of three options for getting in touch with them.

^^^ Yes the KW's are the only CO TSW sells now and they are custom built units for TSW for MINI's based on what your driving events/style. You can order them from TSW or any TSW Dealer.

Spring rates? Setup that's track oriented instead of being somewhere in the middle? V1s with a high rate?
