SuspensionSprings, struts, coilovers, sway-bars, camber plates, and all other modifications to suspension components for Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs.
Don't know if this has been covered yet, but is there any evidence of the "mushrooming" of the strut towers on the new R56. And does this just affect the front towers or the rears as well. I just want to make sure that when i pick up the car i can be ready to get some mods to prevent this from happening if it is going to be a problem. Thanks.
There's no evidence of R56 mushrooming. The strut towers have a different design. That said, if you plan on lowering your R56 and then plan on finding every huge speedbump and pothole, there's no guarantee you won't bend something.
awesome. not really planning to lower the suspension. i ordered the sport suspension just so i wouldn't have to monkey around with it too much. about as far as i'm trying to go on that is new wheels and tires. I just didn't want to have some f'ed up strut towers later on down the line.
I am planning on ading the JCW front bar pretty soon. Anyone have any comment on the added rigidity? My opinion is that the torque of the new motor calls for a more "boxed" front suspension to avoid the contortion of the front of the car.
I was thinking of adding the front bar as well. I'm not really too sure about what kind of difference it will make since the strut towers are beefed up but it will definitely add some Bling to the engine bay.
I had to return my front bar.. the one availible right now is for the euro model and the caster pins are reversed...It does work but the installed goes from .5 hours to 3.5..too much hassle, waiting for the US version to be released..
