rear control arms

I have been looking around for rear control arms. I dont care about comfort or road noise. I want arms that will be very durable, strong, ones that will last the life of the car, and I want the lightest ones posible. I would like lowest cost, but it isnt to important.

My first choice are the Helix Rear Adjustable Control Arms, second are the adjustable race arms from Ireland Engineering, last is the Alta arms.

Does anyone have experience with any of these? I have Adjustable camber plates from Ireland Eng on order, I'm useing the stock MCS sport pack springs and dampers, and I have the Alta 22mm rear bar and endlinks.

I just ordered a set of these myself with the camber plates and rear sway bar. I really liked the build quality of the parts. I really liked the urethane ends.

You mean the H-Sport ones right? But they look heavy, not to mention expensive.

Funny this thread should come up tonite, as I was talking to Waylen earlier about the very same things for my S...adjustable camber plates and rear control arms...and he suggested the H-Sport RCAs, too. The plates are in the neighborhood of $500, while the RCAs will add another $200.

Alta rear camber arms are very loud, they squeak constantly, but they are rock solid. Heim joints being what they are you know.

I had the Alta and changed them out for the Ireland purely because of the constanrt squeaking from the rear end (the car I hope?) and my wife telling me change that or go by yourself (maybe that was the squeaking?).

BTW - I have the Altas for sale. $100 shipped anywhere in the lower 48.

I ended up going with the IE adjustable street arms. I heard that heim joints can wear out and I want to keep my car along time. At least with the street arms, I could replace the urethane if it ever wears out. I ordered 2 pairs to replace all the arms at once and get FULL toe, camber, and track adjustment (within limits of trailing arm design). You might as well go all out.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did each set cost you?

$210 for each set, so about $420 for it all, not including shipping. Its a small price to pay to get that perfect alignment. I would probably give up my left pinky finger for these, so spending money is much better.

Are you going to be autocrossing with them? Depending on your class, not all of the adjustable control arms are legal. Specifically, for STS/STX and Street Prepared classes, you have to keep the same type of bushing as the stock arms, which rules out any of the aftermarket control arms with heim-joint or "pillow ball" ends.

I dont autocross, there is nowhere to do it around here. I just want to set my car up for more insane handling.

The H-Sport arms are heavy and a friend of mine had problems with the threads rusting in a short period of time making adjustments very difficult. Without cleaning the threads and coating them with grease, they would have been frozen solid in no time.

Yup, but try again, I now have them in the NAM Marketplace for sale.
I will also consider trades for stuff.
