h&r spring rate qustion

I know the spring rates are:

H&R
260 lbs/in front
260 lbs/in rear

but my qustion is why would they put the same rates for the ft are rear if the weight distrubtion isant 50/50 on the cooper seems like you would want stiffer in the front to support the engine weight.

Can someone explain this to me and tell me what they think of the ride of this spring.

Anyone know Dinans spring rates>?

IMHO, square rates (front and rear being the same rate) works much, much better than offset rates. After lots and LOTS of autocross, track testing, and daily driving, we settled on the same linear rate front and rear on our TSW Sport Springs. All of our TSW/Leda suspensions also come with the same rates front and rear...

And, while the claimed rate on the H&R's is 260 lb/in front and rear, our spring supplier tested our H&R set and found that they were actually less than OEM!

The H&R's are fine springs, but they don't play well with the OEM struts and springs in our experience... They're a bit bouncy and harsh, which I didn't like. If you pair them up with the Bilstein SP's, it's a great setup, albeit very firm.
