Dealer trip on the 28th

I'm driving down to Brian Harris this Thursday to have the car programmed to have the windows roll down with the key (what a long drive just for this ). While I'm down there, though, I'm going to pick up some parts ie. headlight surrounds, new strut tower nuts, etc. The SA says that they can bang the towers back down, but they would charge about a half hours worth of work. I'm wondering if anybody thinks this is worth it, or should I just wait until this Friday and do it myself when I install the IE camber plates and M7 bar? Thanks !!

Either way - if you want the security of the dealer taking responsibility, have them do it. Otherwise use a block of wood and a 5lb hammer and do it yourself.

I just installed IE adj camber plates, FSD's and TSW springs weekend before last. The right front strut was miserable to get seated into the steering knuckle properly. I would not do this job again without impact tools and a lift - sitting in my driveway, 35 degrees out - no fun.

Also, I have an '06 MCS and the springs hit the ridge in the inner fender well while turning, so I have to flatten that ridge out, as well. If your car has that ridge, you may want to flatten it a bit before re-installing the struts.

Thanks for the tips. I know on my old Solid Gold, it was a bear to get the strut assembly out. I had Detroit Tuned do the install of my springs at this years MOTD. When you say ridge, what are you talking about exactly? Thanks again.

If it not real bad, do it yourself. Mine were pretty bad and had the MINI tech do it for me on the side. I assisted one of our club members and it worked out just fine. Good luck

My passenger side is pretty bad, but I don't mind doing the job. I just figured since I was there, I'd get them to fix it. Seriously though, I think it should be fixed for free. Then again, I don't know what the previous owner did to mushroom it. Probably hit a "TEXAS" sized pothole, being that the car came from Texas. I still say it's a design flaw. But thanks for the tips guys.
