Eibach coilovers?

Anybody tried them yet? Heard anything about them? I think they're fairly new - can be had for less than $1K shipped.

Eibach uses revalved KW shock bodies (stainless steel) and their own designed springs.

If you look at the front springs, these springs will cater for much more shock piston travel compared to some of the vendors, that use off -the-shelf spring designs.

Yup, I read a post recently that said Eibach's coilovers use Koni dampers and Koni's coilovers use Eibach springs.....still don't know if the latter is true.

if you look at your pic above in the first post you can see the KW logo on the shock body right under the Eibach logo.

the latter might not be true. I run the Koni coilovers and the springs are different. To me it looks like Eibachs shown have linear springs while my Konis use progressive springs for sure...

Yup, revalved Konis and tailor fit Eibach springs sounds great!

Still, no one has any experience with them yet? Plenty of things start out looking like great ideas, but you never know how well they work until folks start using them.....

Eibach does not use Konis.

Eibach is using Sachs dampers and KW dampers.
I expect that these will be similar as the KW Variant 1 that many users have.

These Eibach will be very much suited for drivers that want a sport/comfortable drive, but I would not recommend these for tracks. PSS9 will be more suited.

You might be better off if they are the KW's as the reputation for Sach's has not been very good. $1,000 is a hell of a deal as long as they are reliable.

what have you heard?

IMO Sachs is one of the leading shock manufacturers, many F1 race teams use them, and they are standard equipment on many BMW and Audi/VW ...

What i have heard, is that the market availability of their aftermarket stuff sometimes sucks ... for the rest ... i dunno.

I was wondering the same. I've never read anything but positive comments about Sachs dampers, but their stuff seems to be hard to find. They even make replacement shocks for the MINI.....just try to find them though.....I seem to remember Moss carrying them but that's about it.

If you go to the Truechoice website, you will find Koni paired with Eibach springs and Ground Control coilover sleeves. I used these on my last Civic Si.

These kits are available for the Mini, but may not yet be in the catalogue. You can view the Phase 1,2,3,4,5 kits and you can even custom valve your dampers to specific spring choices.

Phase 4 kits are great for track only; these posses shorted damper bodys, track valving, are adjustable in bound and rebound and work with springs up to 1,000lbs. Not for the street. Phase 3 is basically the same except the valving is stock koni yellow adustable and the bodys are not shortened. But these are double adjustable.

Phase 4 - $2,300

Phase 3 - $2,000

The EIBACH system is an exceptionally good system, combining the quality and technology of KW and expertise of EIBACH for top springs. Main advantage is that EIBACH have many years of spring manufacturing experience, so they are able to create the perfect marraige between spring and shock absorber.

The company MTH work together with EIBACH in order to develop a high performance system, which also brings with it a reasonable level of comfort. MTH have also developed together with EIBACH the MTH-Race system, an excellent (mono-tube) upside-down system, for the MINI racers out there - The MTH-Race is also an exclusive MTH product.

For further info, one should best contact Don Hollingshead at Pecision Mini.
