Problems with control arms

Ok, i just wanted to see why I am having the problems below. I got some IE control arms to induce some negative rear camber. Well, after i got them installed i went and got an alignment and then everything was peachy. I go around a corner and all of a sudden the passenger rear side of the car feels like it falls off. OK, so i pull over and my wheel is pretty much hanging from the top control arm. WTF, so i look and the rod has separated from the thing that holds on to the axle. The threads are striped... Ok well, i call and the are very good about overnighting me a new one and assure me that this is a first. So i put the new one on(yesteday) and today i was driving home and the same durn thing happens to the drivers side. WTF, so now im out alot of money and im not so sure that i want to put new ones on again... There is no way that i could have installed them wrong, its almost impossible to screw up, its just a jam nut. So, what do you think?

Yes, pics please.
When you say "both sides had equal lengths", do you mean that both ends of the control arm had equal amounts of exposed threads or that the arms on each side of the car were the same length?

Yes, after looking at the part i already have off of the car and the brand new one, without the jam nut it is looser than a goose! On the other end of the bar(there are two kinds of jam nuts), the threads are tight. Im assuming its not supposed to be like this? Arent they supposed to both be tight? I have some more pics, but it will not let me resize them and then post.

Could the threads in the center piece be stripped on the side that came apart???

Well, i guess stripped wasnt the right word. Its more the part that screws in is not large enough to get enough bite on the center piece. The threads are not stripped, but flattened.

That sounds like one of the ends is the wrong diameter. If IE has someone else build these for them, they might not notice that there was a problem if the jam nuts were tight. I would let IE know of your discovery right away.

The photo you posted shows the jam nut about 1.5" down the threaded section, which means 1.5" of threaded rod --slipped-- out of the Al control arm. The only way this could happen is if the threads did not match (male to female that is). I can't believe IE did this, as my IE control arms have matching threads from what I remember when installing them, and adjusting them - twice. Maybe they shipped the incorrect part. I'd send these parts back to them to confirm what we all seem to suspect.

good luck,
