Suspension screach bump alignment
screach bump alignment
I did a u turn in the rain unsucsesfully a few weeks ago. Impact was flat a against the rim to a curb at full lock. Visual damage to the rim. Steering wheel was not centered and the car handled like a yugo. I had the rim reconditioned. At the advice of the alignment shop I had them replace the the strut. I also opted to replace the hub bearing assembly. The shop tried to do an alignment but was unsuccesful. They did not charge me.
These are the specs after their attempt. I have Eibach springs with 214/45r17 tires on a 2005 Cooper s
CAMBER L -.07 R -.1
CASTER L 4. R 3.7
TOE L .16 R .15
SAI L 12.4 R 12.5
CROSS CAMBER -.6
CROSS CASTER .3
CROSS SAI -.2
TOTAL TOE .31
REAR
CAMBER L -2.5 R -2.6
TOE L .39 R .31
CROSS CAMBER .1
TOTAL TOE .69
THRUST .04
I have looked at the shock towers and the right tower may have a slight push up.
Currently the car pulls slightly to the right and left hand turns have understeer. I am looking for advice on what to pursue next. Are there any cross measurements I can take to determine where the damage may be located. Thanks for any help.

That doesn't sound that out of wack to me. Make sure the toe is correct and go ahead and drive it as long as your sure the a-arm isn't cracked or something.
It might not have quite as much grip on the Left Front, but I doubt you'd notice it unless you were racing the car or something. The max spec is L -.5 so you're not that far out. Now if it was something like L +1.0, then I would be worried.
