SuspensionSprings, struts, coilovers, sway-bars, camber plates, and all other modifications to suspension components for Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs.
Nice, it looks like the drop on my HSports but i think the M7 springs will settle a bit to the actual 1.5" drop they're advertised at. How's the ride? Ripping, i'm sure!
I got my M7 springs and Megan lower arms installed last night and had it aligned today. I love the way it turned out and it seems to corner better as I'd hoped. Here is a pic taken this morning after alignment and there are a couple more in my gallery that show the drop a little better.
Thanks - I wanted to do something very different. All of the striping is reflective and looks really cool after dark. The red ties in with the Chili red dash and doors I added as soon as I got the car home from the dealer.
How do the M7 springs feel? I'm hoping that a progressive rate spring will help smooth out the smaller bumps a bit and make the ride a tad more enjoyable for my wife who usually gets the passenger seat.
Better cornering is a bonus for me, but how's the overall ride in the car w/ just the addition of M7 springs?
The ride is definitely more "tactile." It's not uncomfortable by any stretch but you can feel more of the road - I like it! After one AX this past weekend I can attest to the handling improvement particularly since my times improved markedly. For me the M7 springs were an intermediate step while the Megan coilover issues settle out enough for me to decide to go Megan or spend 2x as much on PSS9's. After I installed them and took the car down off off the jack stands I was surprised how much lower the car sat. After driving on the springs for two weeks I truly am enjoying it. But, because of the documented issues with strut tower mushrooming and the higher probabilities of it with lowering springs I installed the M7 plates, but without the camber plates (for now). I can also say that once the RFs are toast and I replace the street tires with non-RFs and lighter wheels the ride will improve exponentially - based on runs with my AX wheels and tires.
In any case I am really enjoying the springs and feel like the M7 crew did a great job spec-ing them out.
I am in the market for a set of springs.. I was wanting the M7 ones, but 1.5 inches is pretty low and I worry about speed bumps as I have a few I need to get over fairly often. You all just avoid speed bumps or can you manage over them? Of course, every speed bump is different, but...
For those of you with the M7 springs, I highly recommend adding the M7 USS to your car. I've had the M7 springs for almost a year and a half, and I was surprised at how much improvement I noticed with the addition of the USS. My car actually seems to ride better with the USS, which was unexpected, and it definitely is sharper in the corners. There's a long thread somewhere on NAM about the USS, I suggest taking a look - I wouldn't run the M7 springs without the USS, based on my experience. Of course, YMMV.
Very nice car . Is that all you have done, just the springs? Camber plates? Control arms? What size rims and tires do you have? Sorry for all the questions, but i'm looking to lowering my car and wondring what way to go . Thanks for any info.

No camber plates, no control arms, just springs with stock struts, 30,000 miles and still good. M7 USS + M7 STB + 22mm Sway bar.

I'm running 215/45/17, do you think the 45's might be a problem? It looks like there is still alittle space there. But you said that picture is with your 205's. What kind of space do you have now? Thanks for the info. .
