Suspension Koni FSD's vs Koni Yellows?
Koni FSD's vs Koni Yellows?
I have an 06 convertible and I am most concerned about limiting the cowl shake at the front windshield. Does anyone have any experience as to which shock would be best for this remedy?
I would recommend progressive rate springs that have
minimal drop and close to factory along with the FSD's.
but how about trying out the FSD's on stock springs first
and see?
If it doesn't work out, here's a spring that have soft rates:
TEIN H-Tech springs 207lbs/in (f) 229lbs/in (r) minimal drop
16mm (f) 13mm (r) claimed along with the FSD's might work
for you. From wat i read, the verts are heavier so your
drop might be another 10mm more.
there are not many aftermarket springs that don't lower the
car.
if there are other dampers that are available with adjustable
simultaneous (bound/rebound) damping, i would recommend trying
them as well as the FSD's apparently are meant to be used with
stock springs. ...still waiting for Tokico to release the D-Specs
for the MINI...
the yellow's might be a little too stiff and they are only rebound
adjustable.
anyway, hope some of this info is useful.

I have the FSDs on my convertible. They help with the cowl shake and overall vibration because they absorb road bumps much better than the stock shocks. I don't have experience with Koni Yellows.
Later I added the M7 Understrut, and it further decreased the cowl shake and improved my handling. I would start with the FSDs if you also want to improve ride quality, but the FSDs and M7 are both good improvements for the convertible.
