I have a 2002 Cooper S with a build date of 3/02. Can anyone tell me the difference between 3/02 and 4/02 forward regarding the suspension? When searching for springs, I noticed that everything indicates "after 3/02" in the application notes. I am now searching for coilovers, and I need to know if I have to look out for this. KW specifies an application through 3/02, and another application for 4/02 forward.

Hello carrie,

here is the info you requested,

All mini built on or after 3/02, have the sway bar attached to the shocks body.

Minis built before 3/02 have the sway bar attached to the spring seats.

I also have a early build car. If you are still on warrenty tell your dealer that your car pulls to the left annd they will update your suspension. The guys at ALTA let me in on that shortly after i purchased my MCS. The dealer was great about changing the complete front over to the current design. Also your car will handle better after the change. Good luck
