UFS on Webb's Mule!

Hello from Vegas!!

Many people already know that Randy won the race at the Speedway yesterday. He tested the Under Floor Spoiler for me. I wanted to make sure I wasn't dreaming about the downforce that these unassuming small wings create.

He set up to the "aggressive" angle since it wasn't a fast track.

No Contest!

After winning the race.

Everybody else was understeering. I wasn't. They do work!
There were several others with the UFS on their cars and told me how much stickier the car feels. It was great to finally meet you guys!!

I have few more sets if anyone wants them. Please email me at minijdm@mac.com

these would not be legal in most every class of racing that I know about. Not sure what the rules are in whatever Randy was racing in.

It's usually not allowed to have any aero mods under the car between the front and rear axels.

This was just a "tuner challenge" type race. There were cars that had different degrees of mods running all together.. I just wanted to let you know that Randy thinks they work.

The North American MINI Cooper Challenge. They are legal there, and most NASA events that require a weight and dyno sheet to determine the class you are running. The are probably legal in a few other series as well - SCCA ITE for instance.

I am going to do some more testing at Pueblo as well, but it is certainly a testament that EVERYONE was understeering and I could actually make the car loose.

Hope that helps!
Randy

I know this is off topic, but what tires was Randy using for the race?

Toyo RA1 in a 235/40-17 (and they don't just fit right on without some mods) .

The three classes you mention are really not classes in the sense. They are more open to cars that actually don't fit anywhere else. Fact is that the only place in SCCA for a Mini S with even the smallest of mods is ITE, and there you will be racing 600hp twin turbo 944s.
So yes, there may be classes that underbody aero is legal, but none that the Mini competitively fits into.

You can get 600 HP Porsches and Vettes, but most of the time, my 325i JP car would be in the top few cars and my car was not prepared to the limit. I had M3 cams, but basically a stock e36 325i motor. I even won ITE in the 3 hour enduro at the Glen. I think a well prepared MSC can do well in ITE assuming you can get the power to the ground.
