Darnit! And I thought I would have some money to buy a pulley and CAI... guess not anymore. These are probably a priority to buy, since I'm getting 17" s-lites. Oh well, guess its better to keep the car safe.

The SRP's are only $109

Pulley and CAI are waaaay more than that. I suggest all of the above. A little creative budgetting makes for an amazing car.

Sorry I'm late to the party ( I know you missed me). What would be the best way to tell if I have shrooms growing in my MINI? Is this something that should be visible to the untrained eye? Even if I have another MINI to park along side, will I be able to see the difference? Is there a more scientific method of measuring, like maybe a level across the mounting bolts?
And to go slightly OT, what other problems can result from an impact strong enough to deform the mounts? Could the motor mounts be affected? Lower control arm mounts?

BTW, the idea of actually bonding the SRPs to the tower seems to have a great deal of merit; has anyone tried it yet?

Some people have measured the distance between the bolts on one strut tower and compared it to the opposite strut tower. If they're different, your strut tower is slightly deformed.
