What gets me, is that you're sacrificing safety, drivability and IMO looks, all to run a wheel & tire combo that flat-out isn't meant to go together. It doesn't fit, and you're trying to force it.
What safety am i sacrificing? I specifically chose a tire with a "reinforced" sidewall , very capable of handling any extra stress cause by the very minimal stretch i added. Secondly , driveability, i dont race my mini, i obey the speed limit (most of the time) and i never push my car on the street. So im not sure what i sacrificed there.. And in my opinion i love the way it looks, there hasnt been a time yet when ive walked away from my car and didnt look back to admire it . But its not for everyone, and i understand that, but i dont fly off the handle when someone post their mini on 15" wheels which clearly dont fit the wheel well and dont allow for properly sized brakes for the harsh conditions they plan to put the car through on the track.

Ur perfect and my perfect are very different things, ur wheel gap makes me cringe.. But to each his own, and u have no information on the size of thw wheel or tire that u portray as dangerous

FYI my wheel gap is a 1.5 finger gap, which IMO is more than enough for NY streets.

1) A 15" rim with a quality and properly sized tire is outstanding on an R53 MINI, gives it a purposeful look and makes it grip like a bastard. Additionally, a car that's used for things other than Hard Parking needs some wheel gap, especially when tracking in order to prevent tire "scrubbing" while the wheel is turned and the suspension's compressed. Again, purpose.

2) Your wheels are 17" x 8.5" et25, and if I had to guess, I'd say you're running 215's on that 8.5" rim. That's what I run on 7" wheels...

3) Regarding the safety aspect: Engineers and subject matter experts determined what the correct range of widths are that fit on any given wheel. The main focus of doing this is to ensure that the tire doesn't see undue stress, and crack / blow / de-bead itself. But what would they know?... Many states (mine being one of them) will mount the tires on wheels, but not mount the wheels on your car because they can be fined for doing so and are not interested in the liability risk.

Subjective opinions and preference of looks aside, you're running the wrong size tire and that, my friend, is a stone cold fact. /Preach.

Not to mention it also looks utterly retarded.

Geez, some of you folks must be masochists! I like a nice, lowered MINI as much as the next person but slammed and poked? You must cringe everytime you see a dip in the pavement! On 15's, I can barely load mine in the trailer even with long ramps. I agree with TheBigChill. Some of this stuff is sick and I don't mean it as a compliment. With a rig like that, you could break a bead, cause an accident and get yourself in a big lawsuit.

Lookin' good, MINISANITY...but loaded into a turn, I would imagine you experience some tire rubbing, especially if you have someone in the right seat.

Why just spacers in the rear?
