The idea behind the notches is to make it easy for the everyday user. The reason we are now switching to a stiffer bar is for the purpose of keeping the neutral setting in the middle of the slider. So this means that you move the slider back and the car gives under steer, move the slider forward and the car overseers. I’m not sure as to how many notches will be marked, but I believe it to be around 6-7.

How will this bar work on a car that already has both the frt and rear h-sport bars on it. I'm wondering if this new bar will show that much improvement when replacing the rear h-sport. I know you'll be able to fine tune the rear better with the new bar, plus you won't need the rear drop links, either Randy's or the Alta replacements. What is Randy's feeling on this for us who have the bars already or just the rear h-sport. I guess this would be of more importance for us who track our car's a lot. Thanks Larry

Keep up the great work on new products.

Randy has some info on his site about the bars being ready for his up coming pulley parties. You may want to ask over there. He seems more involved on his site with the parties coming up. Good Luck

I would suggest that you see this bar in action before spending the $$$ on it, because designs like this [there's an Ireland Engineering bar with its own incorporated metal droplinks, too] don't have the "squishy" rubber inserts at the metal on metal joints, and so they tend to squeak a lot. I personally couldn't stand squeaks whenever I go over bumps, but they sure as hell do have a lot less "play" and therefore quicker transition on the track. My car sits on the street most of the year, even though I tear up the track when possible, so this would not be my choice. I chose an H Sport 25 mm competition, and the handling is great [softest setting, very neutral], I dropped a few pounds off of my car weight, and importantly NO NOISE .

A few guys on Motoring Underground swear by it, but I've never driven with one...

I put one on my car a couple of months back, but I have not been on the track with it yet.

IT does clunk a little, but one of the guys in the area that helped me with the install has also had one and worked out a way to install some hose washers as bushings which has eleminated any squeaking.

for the install do you have to drop the rear subframe? Can you elaborate on it. Does the slider hold to the bar efficently or does it slip at all? Can you notice a difference between the hollow bar vs. the solid at all?
Thanks I wish Randy would reply regarding how much his bar is going to be.

If you are talking about the Ireland engineering bar, you do have to drop the subframe, it is still a bent bar, like all the others, the only difference is the tube just ends and there are sliding clams that control the attachment point. Looks like Randy's bar would not require dropping the subframe if you were willing to cut the end off your old bar.

I can definitely tell a difference between the stock bar and the Ireland, but I have not driven an upgraded solid bar before and have not pushed my car much yet with the Ireland bar, which I only have about halfway right now until I can do a driver school or something.

Hey guys, sorry for not responding. We literally just got back from California today. I had the bar on my car for the race, and it worked flawlessly if not to well (on the first practice lap I spun). We just have to attach the stiffer bar and test it out now (make sure you can still dial in both over and under steer). -Brian

Is the set going to include front end links or just the rears? How difficult will the install be? Will there be cutting off of something or can we just unbolt and go?

Brian,

This hasn't been answered that I've seen, so if you can pardon me asking again, does this bar make any extra noise? I've heard on good name that the Ireland Engineering adjustable bar with endlinks creaks [some say way too much for the street, while others appreciate the "race car sounds"]. Where does your bar stand? Does it creek over bumps? Thanks! It looks cool, anyways! Hope your trip went well.

It does pop every once and a while over speed bumps and steep grades, but its really spotty. It’s the droplinks that are causing the noise. The non rubber bushings build surface tension, and make a pop sound when the tension is released. Again, it’s really spotty, and if you know what it is, it shouldn’t bother you. And to answer another question, no it doesn’t come with front drop links. It is meant to be a completely adjustable rear swaybar system. -Brian

I'm sure Brian will chime in here, but yep it should fit. Converts & tin tops have the same suspension systems.

I'd double check that. During last install party at Steve's Auto clinic he was listing different prices for the rear sway bar for tin tops and cabrios. Not sure if it was part or labor related.

Crashton is right about the hardtop and cabrio being the same set-up. The only difference suspension wise being the spring rates, and a few braces under the car. That concerns me that he is charging different prices for the same install. Ask him about that next time you are there.

As for an update, we are finalizing production costs and that kind of stuff right now, so look for a mid January release.
