Strut Tower Bar...

I'm looks for a good well designed strut bar for my baby. I will be installing the alta CAI on her, and would like to not have to worry about moding anything. I will also be leaving the stock ecu cover on.

Not sure the best one to use, but I could use some idea from those who have some good insight.

i just put the Hsport bar on mine, you have to cut on one side of the alta box, visible in this picture, but its really not that hard and not too scary if you take your time, and ignore the jigsaw blade that broke off and flew by my head...I don't think you'll find one you dont have to modify something to have it fit. I didn't have to touch the side of the box with the ECU on it.

I guess moding the box doesn't bother me a whole bunch, I'm not sure the gage of the steel on the alta box, I'm guessing it looks to be about 20gage, shouldn't be the difficult to work with.

I'm kinda torn between the M7 and the Umnitza CF one.

I'm not trying to get the cf for the wieght savings or looks for that matter. I would be getting it purly because I think they spent some time on the design of the affixment points.

Although something stiff that re-enforces the chasis in the front will do. The only thing that scares me a bit is the flexture in the piece it's self. I'm unsure the difference between the M7 and the UMNITZA one. If some people could chime in and help me on this desion or pose another great brace that would be sweet.

Look at the M7 strut bar group buy at Worldone. At $175.00 it's a bargain. You won't have to cut up your intake box, just trim the weatherstripping. Pics of other cars show a nice fit.

I can't chime in about the bar but Matt @ Umnitza is a great guy. I have bought many things from him for my 3-series. Customer service rocks and quality of parts seem to be outstanding.

I really have to second that. Like I said in another post about a week ago, Matt is great. I've known him for 21 years. I've seen his carbon bar in person and it is amazing! I'm going to buy it very soon!

I just wish he offered a rear bar that doesn't tie into the seat anchors. I want it to the RSM's.
