M7 Springs?

Does anyone have them? How do you like them? I've had H-Sport on my last Cooper, and I'd liked them, but I am curious about the M7's because they drop the car a bit more. Any comments? Thanks.

M7 springs

love'em. went for the M7 for a lower drop as well. softer on bumps and tighter in turns than stock. the drop is just enough to close up the wheels wells but gotta be extra careful now goin thru driveways. recommend the springs but must say that i have not experienced any of the others hope this helps

Stock struts still or did you upgrade those as well? I don't really want to drill any thing out for the Koni's to work. Has Bilstein made a strut package yet? Thanks for the feedback! I'm going to order them today, I just need to make up my mind.

I have them. I loved them. The drop is just the amount I was looking for. The ride is not to harsh... a BIG improvement (for me).

Yeah, I've got the M7 Springs as well. They're very nice, and I'm using an H-Sport rear competition sway bar as well. The combination is really nice.

Yes, I do believe Bilstein has a set of shocks that work well on the MINI's.

Ditto on Chefdog

I used the stock struts. I also have an Aero kit, so with that combo, I do have to be careful coming out of the driveway, but otherwise, I love em

Let us/me know how it turns out! This is the only suspesion mod I was thinking about making. I would like to do more but I just don't see the need @ the present time. PLEASE be sure to include pics and a little review so to speak, so we all know how happy you are with your new springs!

No problem. I've never documented a mod session before, so it may be rough, but I'll do it!

I noticed that Bilstein listed a strut set for the MINI, does anyone have these yet?

M7 springs are on and are great. Very smooth ride and the stance of the car is great, for my taste at least. The install was much easier than when I did H-Sport springs on my 03. Experience? Maybe, but it was much, much easier than the last time. I just returned from having the car aligned, and it needed it. Sway bar is next!

I'll get one and make an attempt to post it. It looks cool, at least to me it does. Wheel gap is one of my pet peeves. LOL!

Cooper owners with SS the m7?

One thing that I haven't heard about is--m7 springs compared to stock what???

Most people that buy the m7 springs are MCS where SS+ is the stock suspension. Well, what about Cooper owners with SS?? Are m7 springs still softer???

I could be wrong but I don't think the M7 Springs are availible on an MC?
Here I'll check and be right back.
because of this I think they are refering to the SS+?

I was wrong, it is availible for the Cooper. But most people that I have seen it is on their MCSs. So this would mean that it is compared to the SS+.

I hope this Helps OctaneGuy!

Thanks Chilicoopers!
Nope they are for either. There is no difference between an MC with SS+ and an MCS with SS+ from a suspension stand point.

An MC with SS rides softer than SS+. I've talked to Peter about this, and there aren't many MC owners in my area with his springs. Kilo is the closest, but I believe he may have had SS+ prior because he gave me his old springs.

LOL

Hey Richard, yeah, I've got M7's, and I had SS+ before that.

Here's the thing... The best way I can describe the ride is with 2 words: Firmess and Quality. The ride is not soft.

It is firmer than stock, even the stock Cooper setup. I have a friend that put M7's on after base Cooper suspension, and it was a huge improvement. And, like I said, I had SS+ before, and it was a big improvement as well. The SS+ is a harsher ride.

Anyway, if you're looking for a soft ride, stick with the standard Cooper suspension. If you're deciding between the SS+ and the M7's, go with the M7's, you won't regret it.

We have them, check out Mandaboo's gallery for pics. They really lowered hers, measured 2.1 inches. I had bought 215/40/16 azenis on 5zigen fno1rc's for her car and they BARELY fit, they rubbed in the rear slightly, but once they wore the nubs of plastic (two lumps on the inner fenderwell that have no purpose I can see) off, no more rub. SS+ before, now with the M7, less body roll, bumps are a little stiffer, but still easier on the bottom than the Evo
