TEIN Springs

Anyone out there using the TEIN springs on your MINI? Just curious on how they perform.

Thank you..

Hey JD, I replied to your thread over on SCMM, but TEIN is a very reputable company with quality goods. They are more popular in the JDM world, but make really good springs and high-end coilovers as well. There are a couple people here who I know have them, so hopefully they'll speak up :D

dominican had a list of spring rates for most of the aftermarket springs and

the S-Techs had decent rates, from what I remember. Ive been using
TEIN products for the last 8 years with much success.

he has the tein ss since he is able to use the edfc.. i was gonna get that for my mini as well but... not anymore... how does it ride? i mean in comparison to all the rest of the coilovers in the market... not one person has said anything about the teins... im curious if it can "hang" with the "best" coilovers like leda or blisteins (sp?) tein is a very strong company when it comes to suspension and i trust their products. they even got great customer service where if your suspension parts have gone wrong i.e. blown, bent, etc they will replace yours with a new set as long as you send in your old ones. gotta love teins.. anywayyysssssss how are they working for you though?

No, I've got the SS kenchan.

nammerz: The ride is great... in the soft setting you don't jump with the car, in the hard setting its fairly bumpy. Keeps you planted to the ground.
I only got a 1cm drop coz I got wide tyres for the time being.
EDFC helps alot.. from normal driving to the wacko .. its just a press of a buttton away.

The place I fitted it at is known for repairing rally cars and attending them where ever they're at. A few moddifications were recommended by them...
I didn't complain, I went with the flow. A bigger spacer was used for the back, 13mm I think, a bit thicker than the one provided (its the spacer that goes on top of the suspension). This was done to avoid damaging the motor if it hit the chassis. Which required longer studs or bolts which were stronger aswell, so I'm not complaining.

Another mod was the front strut tower hole was widened (I suck at terms) by a bit just incase the motor moved while braking or turning. These guys like to do things right the first time.. reminds me of me
I could get a shot of it if you guys like.

Both my front top mounts were cracked and so they ordered these. Darn roads

Never got around to writing up a review.. don't even think I'm good at it.
Here are some pics of it http://www.mini2.com/gallery/personal/gallery_5394.html

If you got any more Q's just ask.
