3rd Gen Front Control Arm Bushing Upgrade Question...

For those that don't know, I have an F60 Countryman. I'm looking to replace the front control arm bushings with poly versions. Do I really have to remove the whole control arm, or can they be replaced just by dropping the rear bushing carrier? If I have to drop the whole control arm, I will probably upgrade the front bushing, too. (just because)
