JCW Suspension for pre '05 Cars

With the release of the JCW catalogue here in the US, I was dismayed to learn that the JCW suspension has not been cleared for installation on pre- 2005 MCS models.

I just thumbed through my recent copy of EVO and it looks like the JCW suspension does enhance and complement the 210 kit.

I contacted MINIUSA regarding JCW suspension availability. Right now the status is unclear whether or not the suspension will be made available at all by MINIUSA and I was encouraged to stay in-touch for future updates. In another thread it appears that JCG is fitting the suspension to pre '05s in the UK.

Looks like the best course of action for us is to contact MINIUSA and let 'em know that we want to have the factory approved option for our '02-'04s. Hopefully enough interest will ensure that we get the option.

How much does this lower the MINI? I am interested but I have a very high curb in my driveway.

From what I've read, no more than 10mm. I saw a JCW with suspension at a local dealer today and the drop is not that noticeable. I did see a difference in ride height, but I don't think it will make a huge difference unless you are barely clearing the curb now.

I try to talk to my dealer frequently to get updates on it and he said they are still working on it. Something about the mounting hole is slightly smaller on the 05s and it rubs on the 04s. There should be a fix coming out soon.

Darkness,

That's what I'm hoping... that's it's just a matter of time. Hopefully soon.
