R53 lowering problem? Coil rub

Hello all, new here. Recently installed raceland adjustable coilovers on my Mini. With the factory wheel tire combo it rubs on the front springs! I even put on a 10mm spacers and can't even drop the car lower than original height. OE wheels are 17x7 48 offset with 205/45s. If I add anymore space it will clear but rub on the wheel flares. Anyone had this issue? Somewhere a guy said he swapped out to a 16x9 15 offset and had no issue but I'm having a hard time believing that given the fact the wheel is 2 inches wider. I'm looking to tuck. Thanks and sorry if this is in the wrong thread.

Yep, space it out a few millimeters. Thats usually what needs to happen. That was the same for me too

I have 15mm spacers in front on mine. The KW V2 coilovers that WMW sells seems to have smaller diameter springs which could help clearance, but I'm not sure. Did you do an alignment? What's your camber set to?
