26mm solid front Sway bar

Anyone have one and can comment on.. .well everything. : ) I'm considering putting one on, and am looking for feedback. I drove a car with a 27mm solid and it felt awesome, but not sure I need that much bar for my setup as a highly spirited daily driver. I'm also considering a hsport hollow 27mm because perhaps it matches my rear bar better, but I really digged the feel of the stiff front end car and feel it might not be enough change for me. I LOVED the instant turn in willingness the 27mm gave. Based o n the test drive I took, its clear to me I dont think I'll have an understeer problem with whatever bar I go with. Thanks for any insight..

I have done more than a few spirited runs with my car. I have Koni coilovers with AST lowering springs and a stiffer rear swaybar set at the middle. It handles well and is forgiving enough, thankfully, that I like it just the way it is.

Too bad no one makes a slightly stiffer front spring
set that retains stock ride height.
It would still increase understeer some like a stiffer
front bar, but you’d probably have less wheel slip
powering through corners or rough terrain compared to
a stiffer front bar, although at the expense of a little
less ride comfort.

Yah another friend told me to just increase the springs, but I didnt know if there were stock height stiffer springs available. I have to stay stock with my SAS's. I wouldnt really want the ride any stiffer. I went the coilover route first and it wasnt for me.

So no one has the Eibach 26mm bar!? https://www.ecstuning.com/b-eibach-p.../5701.310~eib/

I dropped the subframe on my MCS to get a better access to the LCA bushings, and decided to change the original sway bar bushings and found that the roll bar had rusted badly where the bushings sat, basically making it impossible to put in new bushings as the rust had expanded the diameter of the bar by at least 4mm. So I bought the Eibach front sway bar and will report back once I get it on the car.

27 & 25.5

I have a 26 H&R front and a 25.5 Hotchkis hollow rear with Bilstein B14's, bushings etc. Did it all in stages with the B14's first, 25.5 next then the 26. The B14's lowered the car but the springs are pretty soft so I got the rear bar. It was fun but made the nose dive a bit and it really lost much of it's turn in precision. I got the 26 front after but now wish I had a 25. I think for my setup and general driving that would have been a better setup. I run the 26 in the back hole (softest setting ) and the rear in the middle. That's a reasonable setting for all around driving but it does lose traction on acceleration especially when loading one wheel. I have a Manic tune and I think a limited slip diff would cure that issue. I'd love to try a 25 front with some very slightly stiffer springs as the limited slip is too expensive.
I wouldn't go with Bilstein's again as after 30,000mi and just part of one winter on these the body rusted completely and the chrome at the top of the shaft is pitting with rust. One is also leaking and knocking. I wonder if that's par for the course on them ? Maybe the Ohlins are the way to go ?

Thanks for the feeedback, good stuff. It sounds like you want just a little less stiffness but with my 2007 the only other option is a 25 hollow, and that would be a LOT less stiff than the 26 solid.. I have the LSD. Would you still go lower if you had lsd?

With a LSD I'm pretty sure I'd keep my 26mm bar, it gives the car precise steer in. With just the rear bar you couldn't place it easily in the lane exactly where you wanted as it felt like the front springs were too soft. It felt a little like you needed to pre-steer it. With the front 26mm bar I can always put it within an inch or two of where I want to be in an instant. I'd love to have the LSD !!!

Ok cool. thanks. Your description of the issue is exactly what I'm experiencing. There is too much corner lean and attitude "setup" and I can feel the front of the car is too soft for the rest of the chassis. I'm looking for more corner entry responsiveness and accuracy.
