Offset Needed for Coilovers

I'm currently on a set of 17x7.5 Enkeis with the stock 205/45 wheels and was just curious if I would need wheel spacers to clear a set of coilovers(most likely KW v2s or ST XTAs)? The rims have a ET40 offset and I did plan on running some 215s on them in the near future so I was just curious about fitment.

Most need at least a 5mm spacer on the front with stock wheel and tire sizes when lowering with KW/ST coilovers or the tire hits the lower spring perch.

With 215's and the specs of your Enkei's, you might need a little more spacer and depending on how low you go, you might have rubbing on the fender trim.

I think the ST XTA's are a great coilover for price, especially if you get them during their annual sale/rebate. You get the adjustablility of the V2's, linear springs, and adjustable camber plates like the Clubsports, all for around $1,300. The KW's have INOX bodies, but it probably doesn't really matter depending on what part of CA you're in.

I am running KW v1's, with 17x8+40 wheels and 215/45 tires. No rubbing as far as I can tell, there's slightly less than a pinky fingers amount of space between the strut and the wheel, and no rubbing on the fender. I'm also not super slammed, but am within the lowering spec according to the KW instructions.

What wheels do you have? Also wondering if you know the weight?

What are the camber numbers on your alignment? Pictures?

I am running Rota Titan wheels. I believe in 17x8 they are approximately 17 lbs each.

I don't know the exact numbers, but I do know the rear is approximately -1 degree, and the fronts I have the strut mounts pushed all the way toward the center of the car.

I don't have any good pics of the car right now, but here is one a few days after getting the wheels on:

Are you using the stock front mounts? And did you need to install rear adjustable arms? Thanks

Depends how much negative camber you’re going to be setting. +40 is pretty close to a stock setup. If you go past 1.5inches I would advise on getting at least 5mm spacer. I’m on 8mm spacers and it’s still fairly close to rubbing on the coilovers. Jack up the car and turn the wheel so you can see the clearance. That’s be your best bet instead of us guessing for you.

I am using the stock strut mounts, yes. And yes, I am also using adjustable rear control arms to adjust the camber.
