Suspension severe oversteer
severe oversteer
every run was like this, the first run on cold tires got away from me, and every run I expected it to snap on the same spot and it did
a few cars spun at the same spot, I'm running a JCW in Dstreet with a hotchkis swaybar, gonna be softening that thing now as it was too tail happy the whole course, very tiring not knowing what the rear was gonna do!
I was 33rd raw, 25th pax out of 66, only car d-street and would have won STX too if I had ran that class
same spot on 4th run you can see my head shake as the car unloads the grip at the same spot

In addition to softening the rear bar, if you have adjustable drop-links, check that you don't have any pre-load. This should be done with the car's weight on the tires as though it were sitting level on the ground. Also, play with your tire pressure to reduce oversteer.
adjustable drop links are not allowed in d-street
I went from 40 psi to 32 psi, still over steered but at 32 psi I was rolling over past the triangle markers. Grip was a lot better at 32 psi I wish I could just run them at that, but it tears up the outer edge so bad

I'm not an autocrosser anymore. Sr. HPDE Instructor for over 35 years. Once you have a car that is predictable, the secret to going faster is to first go slower but with great precision. Then keep doing it over and over until you realize that you're going faster.
My track car is a whole different animal, no giant swaybar very predictable, coillovers and camber it's a night and day difference
All you can change is one sway bar in street class
Hotchkiss hollow race bar full soft for this weekend's dragon run
The Hotchkiss bar is 25mm hollow bar with about the same stiffness as a 22mm. This is a really stiff bar. For stock class, others have matched this with the full JCW suspension and switching out the shocks for Koni Yellows. This gets you stiffer springs and a stiffer front bar, all of which increases the overall roll stiffness of the car, especially in the front. This is important to cut down the loss of camber in the front that occurs when the body rolls. This would help with using lower tire pressures. Overall this provides for a better balanced car. Between, between the adjustable shocks and the adjustable sway bar, you can then dial in the rotation that you want. I believe this was the setup that Charlie Thompson ran in his Gen II MINI.
I apologize for not remembering the particulars of your setup, but it would be helpful to repeat them here. Could you also include what your suspension settings are?
