AP Coilovers?

Anyone have AP's? Looks like the cheaper setup to have in the UK. Cant find much about them here. Looking for a softer ride. Been looking at Megan and ST's too. Any thoughts?

Hey Dylan. Responded to you over in the other thread, but figured I'd cross post just in case someone else runs across this. The info on them here states they're not sold in the U.S. I know for sure ST is manufactured by KW, so the quality is there. That individual said that AP are also manufactured by KW. Another thread here confirms it and lots of individuals report that they enjoy the ride comfort. So, if you're in the UK I'd go for AP. If you're in the states, I'd go for ST.

+1 on the ST's. I went with XTA's and the ride and handling improved a lot over the stock SS+. They only had 38K on them too, so it's not like the SS+ were completely beat when I changed them. If the ST X's ride anything like the XTA's, and you don't need the adjustability, that would save a lot of $$. Too bad you just missed the annual ST rebate/sale last month.

Thanks for the quick replies. Pretty much made the decision to go ST. Still trying out what to do about camber plates, strut defenders or a brace (M7)? I don't see any mushrooming...yet. Suppose I could just get the Coilovers and LCA's and see how it goes? Run around on my stock wheels with runflats and then get a set of new wheels non runflats and a proper alignment.

You can also go with the madness strut tower plates here (we run these on our R53). They're cheaper and also a bit more effective as the ones that go on top tend to cut a small notch in the aluminum surface for fitment atop the strut tower which weakens the plate by 50% or so. The Madness reinforcement plates mount below the strut tower and cover 100% of the usable strut tower surface area for maximum strength. The concern with these ones is for MINI's at stock ride height as these plates can cause positive camber. You will not have to worry about this as you'll be lowering your MINI. Otherwise, the M7 plates are also still very effective. If you want camber plates, go with the ST XTA as they have an aluminum adjustable topmount allowing the camber and caster to be adjusted. Let me know if you have questions.
