Feedback on k-mac camber plates

My next mod is going to be a set of camber plates. I think I know what's out there and K-mac ones are lot cheaper than others. I am not going to adjust the camber for street/race. I will set it -2 and leave it there so I don't need a fancy adjustable ones. Anyone using K-mac plates? Can you shrare your experience?

I have not heard anything good about the k-macs.
If you are not going to change the settings, get the h-sport
if you are going to change the settings, get the rdr

My alignment guys hates the kmacs, he actually asked me before doing my alignment is I had the "crappy" camber plates, he was refering to the k-macs.

pfunk,
I am the same as you. I got RDR plates for the front and set them to -2.2 degrees and left them there. The RDR work for me. Considerations are: getting a good, well made beefy product that allows easy setting of camber with the least fuss (easy to work with and accurate), with a reasonable cost.
RDR only allow for camber adjustment, no caster adjustment while other plates may allow for caster. I left my caster at stock settings.

As far as price goes, H-sport plates are about $420 which is over $100 less than RDR. But you do have to drill holes to make the most negative camber.
You can adjust only camber not caster.

I absolutely agree that the Kmac camber plates are not fancy and are definitely cost-reduced. They are, however, a low-cost solution for those of us who are strapped for cash.

I have a set on my car, and they were not that difficult to set up (I did this myself as I have the alignment tools to do a proper job). No, they are not nearly as nice as the RDRs, which were my first choice, but they do the job and do not move around even during heavy (i.e. track) use.

Are they sexy? No. Will I get RDRs in the future if I can? You bet. But for now, the Kmacs work.

Hey mvalent.

Do you have professional alignment equipment or el-cheapo garage hack stuff? I've been thinking about buying some el-cheapo alignment stuff from soloracer but sure would like some feedback before buying. I really want some inexpensive alignment tools.

Any help along these lines would be greatly appreciated. Other sources, options, etc

Thanks guys. I am acutually leaning towards h-sport ones right now. However, Randy posted that he finally finished his plates. I will call him this weekend and find out. I am also exploring the possibility of setting up a group buy for RDRs. I have posted on Market Place but I will start a nother one on this section as well.
