Lowering problems. Would like to talk to someone with experience

Hey, I'm pretty new to the mini scene still. Came from a completely slammed g35 and before that a lowered 350z. So just about a month ago I picked up a completely stock 07 mcs mellow yellow. I've got it currently on just some st coilovers. Tires and rim sizes are 205/45/17 and rims are 17x7. I'm really curious to know what I can do to get it lower than it is now without rubbing the coil strut and the fender. Any help is appreciated. Like I said I'm new to this mini still so not too knowledgable on getting the suspension where I want it so cut me a little slack. Again thanks in advance. Here's a pic of where she's sitting.

Switching to 15" rims will lower the car. What offset are your current rims?

I'd really like stick with 17s. Offsets are 42 I believe

How bad do you want the car to function properly? Your problem is the size wheel. On 16" wheels you will be slammed, but rubbing the crap out of the fender liners whenever you hit the smallest bump. But oh man, you will be so slammed and be ready to chill with the stance crowd.

If you click the link in my signature, you can see my old MINI. Was dropped about 2.5" on KW V2s and was running 17x7 Enkei RPF1s on track. 215/45/R17 tires. Fantastic on track and looked awesome on the street.

You're practically inviting functional issues to arrive with running a wheel smaller than 17" and trying to drop the car even more.

Crap, forgot to mention I ran about -2.5 degree camber all round so that certainly helped with keeping things tucked.

BC coilovers spun down to sit on bumpstops, shaved spindles, 195/40-17 tires.

FYI, more than 1.5" lower than stock and the roll centers are simply garbage for handling. I'm guessing that's not a big concern here.
