Suspension does the mini need a camber kit???
does the mini need a camber kit???
i am getting KW coil overs put on my mcs, i was wondering if you have to put a camber kit on these cars if you lower it A LOT. or can the car be adjusted to spec without a camber kit???
thanks

With my H&R coilovers, camber adjustment for the rear was a requirement. If you street your car, go for the H-sport control arms, if you race it, maybe RDR or Alta controls with heim joints.
Are you going to drive at autocross or on the track?

What are you going to use the MCS for? Street only, some autocross, track or driving school? The more performance you want the more you will need to adjust the camber in the rear (using lower adjustable rear control arms- about $240 for a pair) and in the front (using camber plates- about $550 for the RDR plates which is slotted and doesn't need holes to be drilled to mount).
If you lower your car by coil overs or springs then you are stuck with whatever camber occurs by virtue of the drop and you cannot adjust it unless you have those items mentioned above (might still be in stock range but no guarantees). After dropping you are likely to have about -0.5 degrees front camber and about -1.7 to -2.4 degrees rear camber. You can still drive on it but the ride might be a bit rough and toe in/out is also affected and might be different on each side. An alignment can adjust for toe but not for camber unless you add the camber plates and control arms.
Some owners add only the rear control arms and adjust it to about -1.5 in the rear. Stock camber range is -1.0 to -2.0 in the rear, -.1 to -0.9 in the front. Camber plates are important if you autocross seriously and are not legal in stock classes like G-stock. Rear control arms are useful for a smooth ride on the street and help at autocross but are also not legal in G-stock class.
One thing some people try is to install the coil overs first and see how the car drives. If everything OK then no rush to add more things. If not then try an alignment to adjust toe. If you know you want to drive aggressively or at autocross then having the rear control arms (RDR (lighter weight) or H-sports is helpful).
