So this weekend I swapped out my lowering spring for factory springs and also installed a set of Koni FSD's on my 02 MCS. But now whenever I go over any kind of bump it sounds like there's a bunch of loose junk in my trunk.

I checked all the bolts and there all tight. Even pulled back out the strut assembly made sure top strut bolt was tight and it was all put together correctly. Had the alingment done it didn't fix anything.

After doing some research here and on other mini sites it could be the anti-roll bar bushing and/or drop links that are making the noise.

Any one have any experience with this type of noise or have any other ideas on what it might be?

 

I had the same noise in my boot the moment I drove my all4 off the lot ... turned out to in fact be loose tools inside the jack kit under the flat load floor

I wrapped all the pieces in clean rags and the noise was gone and now I have some clean rags on hand if I need them

I had a similar clunk noise. It turned out to be the charcoal canister was loose in the bracket. Nothing I could do would stop the noise until I took it out of the bracket. Warped it with a rag and then put it back it. The bracket had bent from bad roads and vibrations and the rag made it all tight again. I tried resending the bracket but a few failed attempts the rag seemed like a lazy fix but no more noise.
