Adjustable Rear Sway Bar

I have an an adjustable rear sway bar and have a question on the adjustability.

Each side of the bar has 3 holes (top, middle, bottom).

Does the bar basically have 3 adjustments? Basically, use both top holes, or both middle holes, or both bottom holes?

Or

Does the bar have many more adjustments? Use the top hole on the left and the middle hole on the right, or the middle hole on the left and the bottom hole on the right?

I always thought it was the first option (top and top), but my friend says you can mix and match.

What do you guys say?

You can mix and match giving yourself many variations. Your friend was correct.

Here are the settings for the Alta 19 and 22MM sway bars. Yes you can mix and match but why? That would set one side of the suspension stiffer than the other causing I don't know what.

You don't say who's bar you have but here are the specs for Alta.

Setting one side to 115% and the other to 177% for example just doesn't make sense....well, if you're going to run NASCAR and just make left turns, maybe.

What you are saying seems to make sense at first but it doesn't work that way. Both sides of the bar are connected to each other so it is impossible to tighten up one side at a time. Utilizing different holes on each side simply offers a different load rate of the entire bar. The degree of fine tuning is probably more than what is needed so most just opt to use the same hole on each side.

You may also want to look at adjustable end links for the RSB since you are using coilovers and are sitting lower than stock. This will allow you to position the RSB more parallel to the road (where it was designed to be) and to take preload off the RSB. Taking the preload out will allow the bar to be neutral while the car is traveling straight and only load when cornering. When you adjust the links you need to make sure you weight the drivers seat with your approximate weight. Here are some pics of my project http://imgur.com/a/H99dJ
