Sway bar question (hsport)

Hi i bought an hsport rear comp sway bar. Would just like to ask if thw sway bar is touching on the body near the sway bar bushings? In a addition, would like to also ask if the sway bar is interchangeable like at the end of the sway bar there is a part number should it be in the driver or passenger side? Im hearing a really bad squeaking grinding noise i have checked it with a mechanic and i have retighten all the bolts but the sound is still there thanks

I believe it is symmetrical and can go either way, but look closely at the installation pics. I think I made my have the text for the serial number face, right-side up so you could read it through the wheel spokes.

Mine does rub the body just a hair in a couple of places where the body panel seams are folded and welded together. It's hard to explain and I did have a bit of paint get scraped, but there is not enough rubbing to hear it or know there is metal on metal.

I did get a clunk after 3-4k miles. One of my end links was not tight enough.

Did you lube the bar using the lube supplied with the bar when installed? Mine (25mm completion bar) does not rub any body work on my R58 JCW.

Mine doesn't rub and it's been on for over 100,000 miles...also have never had to re-lube the fittings.. Pretty sure it doesn't matter which way you install it, but mine had a H-Sport sticker on it so I put it in right side up of course..

Actually it is like a squeaking sound. I got the comp bar used that is why theres not lube. Should i lube the bushing or the whole bar? Funny thing it rained awhile ago and the sound goes away but after a few miles the sound came back. Will check again tomorrow. So i dont need to switch the swaybar because the part number in mine is upside down hehe

I would try lubing everything back under there that moves to try to fix the squeak. Some sway bars have grease fittings. You could also buy some spray lithium grease for the areas with no fitting

You just need to lube where the sway bar contacts the bushings

you'd prefer it not too.. Don't want anything that moves to be obstructed ideally...
Lube anything that has a bushing back there while you are under there. Endlinks, top and bottom coilspring mounts etc. that could be giving you the squeak..

My front coilovers squeak as well from time to time and I spray the top and bottom perches as best I can with the lithium grease and fixes it..

I'd totally forgotten it happened until reading this, but mine had a squeek too after install. It was on the driver's side and just needed some additional lube. It's the comp bar.

The H-Sport bushing should have a zerk fitting to add lube. Need to use a lube that is compatible with the bushing material and water proof such as Sta-Lube or Green Grease.

You do not want the sway bar hitting anything because it could bind up and cause a real problem such as massive oversteer.

it's the fitting that the grease gun will attach to, to push in the grease at the bushing inside..

Oh ok. We already pulled it out again and put some grease on the bushings and the middle bar. In addition, we move the stab bushing clamp forward i hope that will help hehe... In addition does the ride gets stiffer when u put swaybars

Well it squeaks again. Will try to do it again and check for the scratches in the swaybar. It seems the sound is comimg in the middle of the bar. The one touching in the body. The mechanic told me i can put some washers in the bolt in the subframe so there will be clearance for the swaybar but im hesitant to do it hehe...
