Megan adjustable rear control arms

Anyone have experience using these? They are quite a bit cheaper than the competition (alta, hsport, etc) but also don't look as "beefy".
The ends definitely look different than the expensive brands.

Thanks!

I would go with the SPC ones.
You really want one of these to break while under load?

I have not personally, As i don't want to buy cheap parts.
You came in here saying they did not look beefy. Meaning you were concerned about their strength. Don't like them don't buy them... problem solved.
Just saying i have put SPC on a few cars and never had an issue with them.
On my personal car i have helix, they work fine but they are noisy.

I put Megan's on a different car I was modifying a while ago....DON'T DO IT! At least, don't do it if you live in an area with horribly paved roads. A friend of mine who lives in a nice part of Jersey (by nice I mean nicely paved with no potholes) spoke very highly of them. Once I put them on my car, I wasn't the least bit impressed. Took them off and bought Skunk2 ASAP.

I got the H-Sports, no issues so far. I doubt the megans will spontaneously fail, as I haven't heard any horror stories about their coilovers... however, I don't think suspension is necessarily the place to cut corners either.

Could you elaborate on what you didn't like about them? Were they noisy over rough roads? Did something fail?

Nothing failed...thank goodness. They were noisy. Definitely more noisy than I think they should have been. I also didn't care for the fittings...lower quality.

I agree with dannyhavok. Don't cut corners when it comes to suspension. There are things to consider when you're just tracking a car on a meticulously kept raceway. It's a whole different story when you're driving over multiple road surfaces/hazards.

I'm going with H-Sports for my MINI.

Most people don't complain about their megans because they have no idea what shocks should actually feel like.
Everytime ive rode in a car with megans its like riding in an oxcart.

I have seen all I need to see about coilover opinions. Just asking about rear adjustable arms here as I have not found a lot of discussion on it.
Of course it would be appreciated if folks could give objective reasons why they don't like a product, otherwise it sounds like a bad sales pitch.

Well I'm not selling anything, so there's nothing to pitch. You like what you like. And you find out what you like many times by trial and error.

You won't find too much on them from MINI owners because its not the go-to product for adjustable control arms. Now if you check out Honda forums, you will see that there are many more discussions involving Megan's, especially with the older model Hondas. TRUST ME....I used to be one of them.

Did you receive them? Install them yet?
Please let me know what the diameter of the threaded part.
And please let us know your feedback on them.
I'm a mechanical engineer and have my suspicions regarding the superiority of the "top brands".

Recieved and installed but not driven. Look very good and fit perfect. Came with dust boots and grease for joints plus anti-seize thread compound. I bought the un-assembled black ones for $5 cheaper.

So how do you like this set-up so far?

Arms worked out great. Need to tune the rear coils a bit, but that's not really related.

I have the Megan arms as my lower links. I haven't been able to get them aligned yet, I just have them the same length as stock.

I'm not sure if it's the new bushings or the arms... but it's pretty noisy back there. I don't like taking a certain road to school because it's so rough on them. Unfortunately I'm a student and I'm in Canada, so I can't just ditch these and buy new ones without paying a lot of money.

You may want to get it checked out pretty soon. You don't want a minor problem now to turn into a major one later, if it can be avoided.
